I pre-ordered & installed the all stainless steel mandrel bent dual cat back exhaust system, with trim flanges from PT-Tuning
Details of the installation:
Total cost delivered via UPS ground to Pennsylvania from California was: $784.00. The system (made in the Canada by MBRP) was installed by me, the actual time was extended due to searching for parts, however, with some luck the installation for the average, "Harry-Homeowner" should take about 2-3 hours.
I was one of the first to receive the system, and I was shorted the #4 stainless steel screws for the trim plates, and the 5/16" bolts for the resonator flange. I called the PT-Tuning folks, they were very apologetic,
and offered to overnight my missing components, however, that would have delayed me too long. I scrounged some bolts, however, it took me the best part of two-and-half hours to locate and get the trim screws. #4 screws are very small and not many places carry screws that small, especially in stainless steel.
Overall I'd give the system an 8.5 out of 10. The fit could be a bit better, nothing major IMO. For example, the inlet for the triple resonator was difficult to get sealed, it should be about 3/4" deeper, IMO and perhaps some better clamps might also aide in getting a better seal.
I waited for this system as opposed to the earlier available systems, for two major reasons:
1.) I wanted an all stainless steel mandrel bent system, as good or better quality than the original.
2.) I wanted a system design that allowed for an even distribution out of the tailpieces. Many dual system just back-feed the second tailpiece with a pipe
out of the muffler. This just seemed a goofy way to design a system, IMO.
Also I really would recommend the trim flanges, I think they add a very finished look.
Note: The company, PT-Tuning, was great during this whole process one of the owners named Maier, called me numerous times to inform me of the status of my shipment etc.
The only gripe I had was that their current shipping process doesn't automatically email you a tracking number when your items are shipped. They need to fix that, IMO that is a minimal acceptable standard for customer service. But I'd still have to give them a 9.5 out of 10 for customer service, they always returned my phone calls, and e-mails, unfortunately, more and more a rarity these days.
